Welcome to Woodbine, family home of Jennie Searle Artist and Poet (see Blog) and her husband Pete. Please take time to browse the whole site which is constantly changing (see diary). Bed and Breakfast is available in the main house and we have converted The Granary to a self catering holiday cottage. Jennie also has a studio gallery in part of the barn with a permanent exhibition of her own watercolours, photographs and crafts as well as some work by others.
Woodbine is situated on the edge of the conservation village of Sutton on Trent, quiet yet close to the A1. The village has a Co-op supermarket, Post Office, butcher's, hairdressers’ and two pubs. The River Trent flood plain, known as the Holme is just two fields’ walk away from Woodbine.
Sutton on Trent is an ideal base for visiting Lincoln, Sherwood Forest and Southwell (each about 25 minutes' drive away), also the market town of Newark is only 7 miles down the A1.
There are plenty of places to eat out, both in or near the village as well as in Newark.
